Accounts and Access

The Clinician Portal has two types of user accounts, which give clinicians the option of managing their own individual or group account.

This article discusses what these accounts are to help you determine which account type suits your needs.

Types of Account

The two types of account in the Clinician Portal are:

Individual

The Individual account is suitable for clinicians who only intend to use the portal for themselves.

Individual accounts can request access to AdvaPACS tenants and gain access to studies based on the Types of Study Access a tenant may grant them.

Registering for an Individual Account

Follow the steps in this article to create an Individual account.

Accessing the Clinician Portal

Individual accounts access the Clinician Portal at clinician.advapacs.com

Organisation

Organisation accounts are useful for groups of clinicians that need to create accounts for their members and control their access to certain features in the portal.

In contrast to Individual accounts, when a user in an Organisation account requests access to an AdvaPACS tenant and is granted one, access is granted to all users of the account, not just to the user who requested access. However, a user's access to a tenant's studies is granted to them individually. The tenant controls which studies a user can access, which is determined by the Types of Study Access a tenant may grant them.

This means that, even if the Organisation account is granted access, users within an Organization account may have varying levels of access to different studies shared by a tenant.

Accessing the Clinician Portal

Users under an Organisation account access the Clinician Portal on the subdomain created upon registering an Organisation account.

Types of Users

An Organisation account has two types of users:

Account Owner

The user who initially creates the Organisation account is assigned as the Account Owner. It is the only account that has constant access to all of the available permissions to prevent account lockouts and to allow it to resolve account issues.

Regular User

User accounts other than the Account Owner are Regular User accounts.

These accounts are assigned with specific Roles and Permissions to allow admins to manage their access to certain features in the Clinician Portal.

Creating a Regular User

The Account Owner and Regular Users with the right permissions can create other user accounts and assign them with Roles and Permissions. To create one, follow the steps in this article.

Managing Users

Organisation admins manage various user permissions in the Admin settings.
